To celebrate the launch of their Louie Lopez Pro skate shoe, Converse partnered with Good Friends to build a 20k square foot skatepark in Brooklyn, providing space for professional skaters to escape the harsh winter elements. With a rotating, curated selection of DJs, food trucks and beverage sponsors—all from the surrounding Greenpoint neighborhood—it was a first-of-its-kind for the area.
Over the course of the activation, the space became a fixture. Pros and amateurs skated regularly, hosted weekly sessions, video shoots and even additional product launches. Originally slated to be open for 30 days following the launch event, we extended access for an additional two months as the skate community flocked in from throughout the tri-state area.
